Event Report: Spice Queens Showdown – The Kitchen Battle?‍?

The Ladies Wing of JITO Goregaon successfully hosted the much-awaited culinary event "Spice Queens Showdown – The Kitchen Battle" under the Health & Nutrition initiative Zaayka. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, esteemed dignitaries, and a celebration of nutritious creativity on the plate.

The event commenced with the chanting of the pious Navkar Mantra, followed by a warm welcome from the Chief Secretary and an inspiring address by the Chairperson. Smt. Ranjan ji and Smt. Vidya ji addressed the gathering, encouraging greater women participation and highlighting the upcoming All India Apex Millet Competition.

Renowned culinary expert, Executive Chef Hemaant Sawant (formerly with Vitthal Kamath Group and now with Legacy Witty Banquets), graced the event as the judge. His insightful feedback to each contestant post-tasting reflected his depth of experience and passion for culinary excellence.

Competition Highlights:

Five talented participants showcased a trio of dishes each – a Drink?, Main Course?, and Dessert?, all centered on balanced nutrition. From innovative millet-based meals to protein-rich preparations, the creations dazzled with both taste and presentation. Judging criteria included Taste, Presentation, Nutritional Value, and Innovation.

While participants competed, the audience enjoyed engaging games, with giveaways adding fun to the atmosphere. The winners to the games were given gifts and for the giveaways special mentions go to:

- Jigisha Shah for her delightful brownies

- Raksha Jain for complimentary graphology readings

All participants received certificates, and the winners were felicitated with trophies. The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks and a grand tasting session where members relished the dishes alongside the Choviyar arranged by the Ladies Wing.
